About the Author
Mary Maddocks is a textile artist based in South Gloucestershire. About 4 years ago she bought a small hand loom and taught herself to weave during the evenings. It soon became an obsession and she started creating and subsequently selling her wall hangings. Having grown up in Wales and she is hugely inspired by the wild Welsh countryside and the natural world in general, and this fed very naturally into her weaving. She soon started to explore a range of different materials and techniques to depict the sort of landscapes and natural textures that she finds so inspiring. Her work has now evolved to become a little more abstract but is still heavily influenced by natural textures, colors and patterns. About two years ago she started running workshop, which have proven popular.
