It wasn't until 1922 that a platypus traveled to America. People didn't think they were real.

Platypus aren't really meant to travel and unfortunately, he didn't live too long in America.

 

These guys are always my favorite to try and spot out in the wild. You only get the tiniest little glimpse of them before they're bill down back into the water. There is something pretty marvelous about them. If you travel down to the Otways that's you've got a pretty good chance at seeing one at Lake Elizabeth. Let me know how you go with your Platypus spotting!

About Pixie Nut & Co

From her studio in the colourful town of Nimbin, NSW, Philippa designs and creates for her illustration-based label, Pixie Nut & Co. Inspired by nature and Australian wildlife, Philippas’ naive-style, hand painted designs are translated into clothing, fabrics, scarves and iconic wooden earrings and brooches. 

Philippa was a maker from a young age, creating and selling alongside her Mum at local craft markets. She studied a Diploma of Fashion Design and Technology at TAFE and an Advanced Diploma of Design at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
